Interestingly the comment has been passed to me on reflection that "clause (5.13) is of sufficient imprecision to render its meaningless" Quite precise is the statement in EN14143:2003, Section 2:Very interesting. For those not involved with safety nomenclature, that means compliance with it is required. Cheers, Alex |

The large number of documents, and the little changes that get made during the current CE and NORSOK approval process, means it will be late April or Early May for the whole lot to be out, probably in one go. Cheers, Alex Any project up dates? |

| So much more to learn ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | New information published Please find the start of the big update HERE. The site is working and has huge bandwidth, but SPAMmers are having a Denial Of Service attack on it this morning, possibly taking exception to the very effective SPAM filter we use. Just have patience: the site is up. This includes the start of the flow of the DV reports that have been prepared, and a full update of the FMECAs. Vol 4 is published for the first time (Mechanical FMECA). The big mass will still be later, but we would like the most important documents out before then. Cheers, Alex We have 108 documents supporting the safety case, at last count. These are all being reviewed for release. Professional work. Anaylsis just like it ought to be, but so sadly rarely is. This is the quality of work that I expect from the aerospace research industry that I work in daily. Well done!! (And where do I send my check?) Dave

Am in Norway right now, with another week of the same at two well known Norwegian institutes. Some extra docs have been posted over the past two months, such as the O2 sensor report, the FMECA Vol 7 and some other DV reports. There are some further very thick reports queued. Alex |

A lot of things to think over. You've made a really great contribution to the community, thank you, MAN. A time when is definitely at a close distance now.

| CK+Shearwater ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Any news? Hi Alex and Co, With regards to the aforementioned Volume 6... I've only had a few minutes to read some of the data but I must join the chorus of "its very complete and impressive stuff" however a couple of things stuck out, perhaps I missed something but just in case.... The Purpose and Scope gives the impression (to me) that this is the analysis of your proposal (Deeplife Ltd Open Revolution Submission) and even goes as far as saying that all references refer to that submission. (There is also a couple of typos but my spelling is terrible and I can't load the Rebreather World spellchecker at work so won't point my finger there! )Later on in the document there are numerous references to a specific existing rebreather by way of failure type (battery bounce) components used (O2 and Dil manual injectors) etc that are clearly not part of the Open Revolution Submission, I do not understand where they fit in the analysis? The next thing I spotted is that moany of the items are contradictary. For example- O2 Solenoid Stuck closed, the recovery suggested in flying PPO2 manually via manual injection (which of course is somewhat unit specific and doesn't afflict all rebreathers anyway) On the very next page it is suggested that the manual injector is a failure point that should be eliminated!! Perhaps I have missunderstood the purpose of this document, its seems to me a list of failures possible on the APD Inspiration, not an analysis of the Open Revolution submission (in which I imagine these issues are resolved) BEN
