| Re: Test Jockeys The short answer is yes that has been done, and is (will be) ongoing in a variety of countries. Obviously the exact definition of who a "Joe Soap" diver is varies depending on who you speak to and where. As far as I am aware OSEL have formally used 55 different test divers in a range of diving enviroments over the past year. This is in addition to those used as human dress dummies for things like harness sizing and general ergonomics. Those that have dived the Apoc as far as I am aware cover: Commercial (Sat) Military Divers & Supervisors CCR ITs Cave/Trimix CCR Instructors Cave/Trimix CCR Divers Cave/Trimix OC ITs OW/Tech/Trimix/Cave OC Instructors OW & Tech/Cave/Trimix OC Tech/Trimix/Cave OC OW Divers (through to DM) Unqualified Obviously, some of the divers span more then one skillset and to give an indication in the week prior to DEMA for those that dived on the Apoc, IIRC diver skillsets consisted of: Commercial (Sat) Military CCR IT Trimix/Cave CCR Instructor Tech/Trimix CCR Diver Tech/Trimix OC IT OC Tech/Trimix OC OW Unqualified (supervised try dive only) Regards Brad |
