More Meg battery questions

A while age I made up a battery pack using 2 X 3.6 volt lithum AA and I put it in my secondary. I noticed today that my BL wasn't coming on so I checked the volts and it was reading 5.9v. I then went to the BL enable/disable screen and noticed it said low battery even though it was showing 5.9v. Anybody know why that is?
