Hi Spyros-

I actually built mine using new Molex parts. They were bought from DigiKey, Digi-Key Corporation - USA Home Page on line, using the exact part numbers spelled out in the pdf document that Ron so conveniently provided above. Note: be sure to buy the gold plated pins to avoid corrosion issues. All that said, recycling the connectors from a spent battery pack will work every bit as well and save you a bit of time & $$$. I just wanted to build up some spare packs & test items and did not have enough spent packs to recycle.

As far as the 9v battery clip goes, you can get them from DigiKey as well, but they’re common as dirt just about everywhere- I bought mine locally.

Ken
thanks Ken,

am on it...

But have you used it in any capacity and what is your feed-back ?
I used them quite a few times early on and found them to work fine, both for primary and secondary, I no longer use them as I have a huge pile or ready-made battery packs to get through now......

If you don't want the hassle of making/buying the ISC-type packs then it could be the answer.

I forget duration though, I usually binned the batteries every week or so anyway, I've never been one to scrimp on consumables.....

I will post some photos this weekend.

Cheers,

Dve Cooper.

Hi Dave

9V Adaptor???

Like Decoweenie I am interested, any pictures???

I take it from your post that you have run the Meg Primary and solenoid with a 9V battery, without some form of voltage regulation to bring the 9V down to 7-7.5V.

Is that correct???
Yeah that's right.

Here's a photo:

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Re: Meg Low Battery Warning and Battery Compartment

as seen in the picture, no voltage regulation or conversion necessary, APECS will run on straight 9V.

Re: Meg Low Battery Warning and Battery Compartment

I got the 9V adaptor as part of the deluxe spares kit supplied with my unit. Not used it yet but do keep it an a 9V battery in my weekend saver kit.

Hi Spyros,

Unfortunately I only have one set for use and one spare set, that I keep for courses in case a student's battery craps out.

Cheers,

Dave.

Call Leon and I am sure he will put some in the post to you, he probably has a load already made up.

Cheers Spyros,

Dave.

Re: Meg Low Battery Warning and Battery Compartment

To make this you should be able to find the 9V plug very easily. Any hobby or electronic supplies shop should have it.

The Meg side requires:
1 – MOLEX p/n 03-06-1023 Connector Receptacle 2-pos .062
2 – MOLEX p/n 02-06-5135 Connector Terminal Female 24-30 AWG Gold

Search for availibility on Octopart You are bound to find a supplier that suits you. I have found DigiKey excellent
