What do people want out of APECS 3?

APECS 2 handsets to big and hard to read, I think the screens on the Vision handsets are a joy to read...

the brick like blocks on the arm need to go something with less drag and a more Organic shape..

and frankly handset cables that can have custom sizes... my VR3 cable is about 15 inches to long and I am tired of dealing with the extra...

Gauge mode capability so you can have depth, bt and system info all in one.

A reasonable computer that doesn’t lock you out (similar to VR3)

Manages system info and deco separately, so one doesn’t affect the other.

Ability to bail out and still mange deco, etc.

No beeping or ability to turn buzzer off.

No "you must be exactly at 20’ feet" BS. +/- a couple of feet would be nice.

Downloadable dive log.

Make it detachable from the unit? (not necessary but would be nice).

My list would be

Non Detacthable, Unless ISC can get their hands on something that actually lasts and is reliable

Infra red port, Upload and Download, or interface in the head to plug into a PC, Why not it has always baffled me why not

.

Completely redundent Primary and Secondary, Secondary able to operate solinoid.

Ability to run the system Manually no matter what happens, Hud independant in its own right to achive this. Yes I know this means 3 independant computers, and is expensive.

User selectable Deco software, Buhlmann, RGBM, etc etc.

Think about peoples wish to have offboard computers, build attachment points for 3rd party computers into the Handset design. You simply can't get away from peoples wish to have a Independant Deco / Po2 'puter.
Which leads into the Head for APECS 3, Forth cell, independant output for VR3

Think thats been thought about

Reliable battery life and connection, assuming the Bats will be in the handset.

Rechargable lithium Ion cells

, No need to ever open the handsets........ Yes I know they fail very quickly at the end of their run, but chosse the right ones and there is no reason why they could'nt operate a system for 24hrs reliably. Well I think

so anyway

Oh and the reliability of APECS 2 on release

These three are key- especially the guage mode. If Apecs 3 doesn't have a guage mode, there is no reason for me to upgrade, as I don't use a computer and don't plan to start.

I'm with Heather, depth and bottom time. I would like to see it added to the apeks2 and leave the deco for the apeks3. I really would hate to pay the price for a computer just to have the bt on the same screen. Didn't the original version of apecks have the depth?

Like a few others have commented, I would like just basic info added (bottom time, depth) and then I would be content. I don't need or want anything more elaborate.
