On the website, the X1 page simply uses the graphic from the F1 with the letter "F" changed and more planned specs added.Eric was hard to get a hold off, but I eventually got some replies:

And I heard that the bottom timer software will also be sold/available with the X1 so the screen shots are even correct. Would be interesting to see what the software developers are planning.... maybe get some sample screenshots from them. ![]()

Eric confirmed that the F1 is being phased out in favor for the X1. He only got 2 x F1's left in inventory.Would be interesting to see what the software developers are planning.... maybe get some sample screenshots from them. ![]() Supposedly, Ross and Kees are working on the software.

And no mention of the future OMS computer. So Phi, have you heard any updates on the "improved" F1? Back in Dec, Eric mentioned that the F1 would be upgraded to use the same processor as the X1 but would not have the compass, would not ship with the interface and dev kit, and was suppose to be a few hundred cheaper. With at least 2 people writing software, I'm curious if any electronics type folks are working on interfaces? With a programmable dive computer, you can do just about anything and would think someone would be building an interface to allow you to connect an O2 cell. Or I can hope.

Personally, it looks to me that all of the interests could be overwhelming for a small company such as Liquivision. And Eric is probably constantly revising his plan. Just an observation... Connecting O2 cell might be dificult for a computer that is complete sealed. Even the battery is sealed and can't be replaced AFAIK.

| Earning the green stuff.. Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New For VR3 From what I've discussed with Eric and this may have changed, the X1 is suppose to have some interface I'll call the dive computer bus. Don't have any specs other than it will be an interface to connect to external components. Seems to be a common factor looking at the VR3 and Shearwater w/ their "fischer" connectors. One person was talking about a possible eCCR head that would interface with the X1 - the head would be a battery pack, O2 cells and solenoid and an interface to the X1. The X1 would read cells and fire solenoid using the external battery (pwr relay). Very interesting..... I also heard that about the battery... sealed inside, non-replaceable but expected to last 40 years. I would be impressed if it lasts 10 years. ![]()

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New For VR3 Hi If the cost of this link is about £750 it will still be cheeper to upgrade a Classic rather than buying set of vision electronics. What it does do is to give classic owners more options. Owners of VR3's will need to check that the VR3's they own are compatible with this interface as some of the earlier VR3's will need firmware or hardware upgrades. I am sure when Delta P are ready they will release all the prices. TW I have one of these on my classic I'm test diving it for mikes of upminster its not bad bit of kit, yes going too be pricey around the £800 mark and the cost of upgrading the vr3,the vr3 screen shows the pp02 from the 4thcell and gas pressures, which in turn works out your deco and loading from actual gas absorbtion somewhat a good thing, real time deco!Last edited by essexbloke : 17th January 2007 at 17:40. |
