![]() | I'm ordering my Optima Monday I finally decided to order my optima. My insructor also informed me that the Optima FX is available. He sent me a press release from Dive-Rite announce the release of the FX. If anyone wants a copy, then just PM me. I dont' know if I am allowed to post it or not. I'm not sure on all of the changes on the FX versus the original Optima, just what has been posted in earlier threads. I would like to thank everyone for thier inputs. It helped with my decision of Optima vs. Inspiration. Doug

Biggest advantage is by using 13 cube cylinders (2L) an\ you can shorten the unit by over 2 inches and cut the weight down by 20 pounds the untit with 13's AL weights 48 pounds and in wet suit you most likely will not need a weightI'm not sure on all of the changes on the FX versus the original Optima, just what has been posted in earlier threads. ![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday I ordered today and my unit should be here in about one week. I stuck with the original design, not the FX since I would rarely change bottles. I also need the weight diving a dry suit in Salt Water here in Maine. Questions for anyone: What did you do for your harness.....Single Weave, deluxe harness, or transplate harness? Does anyone have any better ideas? Also, how hard is it to hook stage bottles, etc., depending on the harness selected? Thanks

However, I did go with the Venture Wing since what I had for my big steel tanks would have been too much. I modified the backplate for sidemounting, and that has worked well for me. |

![]() ![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday Doug, The "DR Transplate Harness" works well for me. I have added 2 offset harness d-rings from Deep Sea sSupply which make attaching B/O bottles a breeze. Cornel
