![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday I agree the DR Transplate harness on a SS plate and the back pad are the way to go. I have been diving mine with a Rec wing and am quite happy with the balance. Drysuit in cold fresh water with the above rig I use 2 pounds in each trim pocket and no other weight at all. Have fun with it. |

![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday Thanks forthe info. I will probably go with the Transplate...does anyone have any pics of how the Pony's were mounted? I know on the Meg,you had to cut a slot for the extra D-Ring for the stage bottle. That is not the same on the Optima is it? Doug

Seafox, I want to see these offset d-rings from DSS.. can you send me a link or a pic? Are you sidemounting your bailouts? Cheers

![]() ![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday I am guessing he means these: Hey JordanAffirmative. http://www.deepseasupply.com/page13.html I clip my B/O's the standard way, ie: d-ring on waist strap and the offset d-ring on the Transplate harness under the CL. Because they are offset and not hiding behind the CL, it makes easy to clip on or off, whether a 40 or 80 cu ft is used. Works for me! Cornel

Thanks You will just need a sidemount buttplate and a cylinder bungee strap for each cylinder you'll carry. Take a look at Fill Express' website for msrp -- you can get the kit for under 100 bones. When doing it that way, it'll keep your bailouts in the slipstream and will therefore be a lot nicer when swimming into strong flow... it does take a little more practice/effort to remove and replace the bottles (and you lose the area under your butt where you could place lift bags) but I think the trade-off is most definitely worth it.

![]() | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday Thank you for the info.... The only other part I never mentioned is what to do with my Argon bottle. I may have to set it up as a sidemount on one side and my bailout on the other. I understand that in Florida they spell Argon as "A-I-R". Here in Maine, Argon and my dry gloves are my best friends. I'll checkout the sidemount gear. I'll have to find another place for my lift bags, though. My Optima should be in this week. First pool sessions start next week.

I have a set of these D-rings and I had to take them off because they really dug into me. | EBT called me stroppy! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: I'm ordering my Optima Monday Hi Doug, I use a 6 cu ft AL bottle for suit inflation. Place it on the side of the harness like people do when diving OC -- same place. I can sidemount an 80 on the same side too (it doesn't get in the way).... and yep -- air in FL is all you need for suit inflation. For lift bags, there are attachment points sewn onto the side of the cover to attach bags to -- so you'll be set... now you just have to enjoy the ride. Cheers
