Looking for short-fused training

I am moving to Italy in a few weeks and the bug has bitten me hard. This incredible forum has provided an unbelievable amount of information in a short time.

I am looking for what I suppose would be Mod 1 training with the Optima around the first week in December. Is it normally required that an individual hold a Nitrox cert prior to rebreather training? It's really kind of a last minute thing, but I think it would be much easier to get it done here before I leave than it will be in Italy since I am already in the southeast right now.

Any suggestions?

Re: Looking for short-fused training

Hi. Yes, a nitrox certification and an Advanced nitrox certification are required for the course. You can also aim the OW CCR diver and in that case you only need nitrox certification. You got there some extra training days before the Optima...
Anyway, I would suggest you talk to JP Jones for more information as he is an instructor for the Optima (he was my instructor) and could give you better advice.
Good luck,

Zé.

Dont worry if you have a good grasp of the theory then you can wrap the courses in together...

Come on folks no one wants to take this good mans money for some training?

Mel Clark has a CCR class that starts on Dec 12th. She now has two COPIS students and could take an Optima student in on that class.

Where are you located and will that timing work for you. We are up in Seattle, WA.

Jim was taken care of by Mel Clark. He is now the proud owner of an Apecs 2 Megladon and has just completed his training here in Seattle and did a great job !!!!! .

Matt,

Heh, talk about timing...

I'm actually sitting in the airport on the way home from my Meg training in Seattle.

Thanks for the offer though!

So, Jim.... I see the Meg bit and chewed up your ideas for an Optima?

Please do ask Jo to tell the story on the TSA and Meg... I need to know.. I'll be flying with my new baby in late January to go to training...
