Here is some useful information on shelf life and date code that I requested.

John,

Good morning and thank you for your interest in Saft. This chemistry has a long shelf life. The capacity loss in storage at +20C is below 1% per year for the LS14500.

The date codes on our Li-SOCl2 cells can generally be interpreted as follows: The first two numbers represent the year of manufacture and the next set of number represent the day on which the cell was finished. The letter and numbers that follow are for internal reference.

Great information onm the date codes, thanks.

All of the batteries I received from EMT were from 2004. Not bad for $1.95 and free shipping tot he US.
