Would soaking the HH in hot water(tap water hot, not boiling) help to melt those crystals? I know that salt dissolves pretty quickly in hot water compared to cold...so it may be worth a try.

Besides putting silicone in the holes (as was advised in earlier posts), how about soaking in some Salt-X (or equivalent) when doing the post-dive clean up after returning to port, and then rinsing? It is pretty tough to get a good rinse on the dive boat, which means it could be a while before returning to port and getting a chance to do a good post-dive rinse.

Re: Funky HH problem

I'm a bit confused. What is different about the HH than all other computers out there that make this happen?

SAlt X, would probably do a good job..

So far I have had good luck with rinsing with fresh water across the face (so that there is a chance water can get behind the bezel from the center then move outward.. I then dip in fresh water... with a good soak (15 or 20 minutes) at the end of the day..

Actually the depth problem has been seen on MANY VR3s.. I had it happened a few times to my unit and had to clean out the sensor.. Usually only happened when I went digging for old bottles.. On the VR3 its a little less likely because the xducer hole is larger and its on the back of the computer so your wet/dry suit can help keep things from getting in and easier out..

The intersema xducer doesnt have the best way of mounting and each design really has to find out what works.. They really dont give much info on how it should be mounted..

The older HH used a standard strain guage type sensor that really worked well but required individual calibration (and recal if a person wanted to liquid fill the units), He went to these to go to an absolute pressure sensor..

It really takes units being used in the field to see how its going to hold up.. Things always seem to work well in the lab..

Tip: on the boat fill up your plastic max box with freshwater. Walk this over to your handsets and soak them in that
