O2ptima Manual

Dive Rite Express has posted the O2ptima Manual Rev. 1.1 on their website.
It's a 5 MB .pdf, the Hammerhead part of it authored by Joe Radomski.

http://www.diveriteexpress.com/rebreathers/optima.shtml

While they were at it they changed configuration/pricing again.
The unit now sells without the tanks (,BCD, consumables) and
either AL13 or LP27 are optional.

They also added what looks like a complete pricelist for replacement
parts,

Price for the trimix PIN# is now a whopping $500 ... someone's been
taking a page out of the DeltaP playbook.

Re: TDI O2ptima Manual

Mel has the 02ptima and is diving it daily so that she can get started writing the TDI Training Manual.

Updates on the project later.

Re: O2ptima Manual

Hmmm, for the manual of a multi-thousand dollar rebreather from a market leading dive equipment manufacturer there is alot of pointless bragging about the unit and indifferent panning of other Rebreather's in the text, talk about being written with an agenda!

Construction of the unit (judging by the pictures) is superb but that fabric casing still looks like a complete afterthought to me...

Nice to see it out on the web for all to read though- top marks for that

All IMVVHO of course,
BEN

The new HH section should be done by next week (I dont know how fast it will be dropped into the main manual though).. The HH section is quite old, was butchered a bit by Farallon, and was written for a different audience (the experienced CCR diver), so some assumptions are made..

I know The HH portion will be put up on Juergensen Marine as sson as I finish it..

Hi Guys,
I agree, top marks for that! So far, we find the manuals on manufacturer's or distributor's website for:
1) KISS's: Classic & Sport;
2) DeltaP: Boris;
3) APD's: Classic & Vision;
4) Diverite: O2ptima.
4) OMG: Azimuth
So what's missing here (either because I'm not aware of or they are not published)?
Prism; Meg; Drager's (?). What else?
Best
Philippe

Re: O2ptima Manual

Being able to read the manual will help us pick the rebreather best suited for themselves. Especially when you drop $10K for a cool backpack.

Dräger manuals for the Dolphin and Ray used to be publicly available from their website, and there are still plenty of private sites that feature them. Even service manuals.

OMG has or had the manual for the Castoro C96 Pro available (MT A026).

Steam Machines was adviced by councel not to to make the manual available to the public and have been following that advice.

Likewise I haven't come across Megalodon and RB80 manuals.

Other don't-knows are Aquatek and Submatix, never looked for them to be honest.

Re: O2ptima Manual

There really isn't much of a change. Before, one could order without tanks, and would receive a credit. Now it is just broken down to the unit, and there is a separate charge for the tanks. The Trimix option has been this price for a number of weeks now.

I have been killing a few trees with all of the manual printing as revisions come out. I will be happy when I can shred another branch with the latest manual revision. Better to have the updates than not.
