Frozen primary display

Edited as the problem has changed. Display works now, but..

Current issue - sensor 2 fails.

So far I have replaced the sensor and wire loom. Cleaned all contacts.

Any other ideas ?

Re: Frozen primary display

it all works now, but I can not tell you why. My only suspect is that I only have one new sensor and the current set installed is nearing end of life. Why the primary remained frozen for about 20 mins then magically got past the opening screen (despite numerous pressing of buttons) is still a mystery as well. As far as the sensors I'll replace all the older ones. Hope tomorrows dives are worth all this frustration.

edit.. now down to 11 minutes for the primary to get pass the opening screen.

how long does it take on your optima?

Thanks for the shoulders to whine on....

Re: Frozen primary display

There's something wrong somewhere in the system.... It should take less than a minute to boot up....

Old handsets or new ones (Delrin)?

Try cleaning the battery compartment leads gently..... with a pencil eraser...

Old handsets try a wire brush on the threaded part of the Battery Door Compartment.

Just some thoughts... If none of that works, call Kevin... They might need to go back for repair.

Re: Frozen primary display

Don't overlook the most obvious - low battery. It can be a new battery and still be bad (not have enough power for the handset).

Especially if you are using the Saft's.

Re: Frozen primary display

Had the same issue with old metal handsets.
It turned out to be a faulty transducer.
Good luck!

Re: Frozen primary display

Thanks for the ideas guys. The first things I did was clean all the terminals, and change to brand new batteries. Strange is the set not operational when cold but seems to work fine warm.
I heard from Kevin, so the head is headed back to him.

So tomorrow its back to the inspiration
