O2tima Checklists

The CEO of Dive Rite, Lamar Hires, has blogged on the topic of O2ptima checklists: Dive Rite - Dive Rite’s online journal exploring the latest in technical diving » Importance of Following a Rebreather Checklist

Dive Rite is publishing two O2ptima specific checklists I provide my students, I've released them to public domain and they are now posted in the Dive Rite library: http://www.diverite.com/downloads/diverite_100.pdf

Couldn't tell you, I never really saw it.... I spent a week looking at my HUD and wrist, doing skills drills, and listening to lectures and briefings, working on exam, and finding creative new uses for duct tape. When I wasn't doing that... I was sleeping.

Mark, as you well know because you trained me, I use the laminated Assembly, Post Assembly, Pre-Dive and Pre-Breathe Checklists you provided me religiously and I feel as though I have avoided many potential problems because of them; so consequently, the more experience and knowledge I gain, the more I realize how important it is to use the checklists each and every time I assemble my gear / enter the water, without exception, regardless of whether I think I can do it on my own!

Thanks again Mark!

Mark thanks for sharing this!

For some people I think it should be tatooed onto the palms of their hands as a condition to getting their c-card.

Great to see it...

Re: O2tima Checklists

Mark,

I thank you for teaching me with those checklist. I of course still use them and have made my own and stuck them in every place possible. A few copies on my bags, pockets, bag handles, inside of my baseball hat, etc.

That's a good point Erik - They should always be handy! I too always keep a couple of the Pre-Dive / Pre-Breathe Chesklists handy while on the boat. Mark was kind enough to provide me with several laminated copies of them, so I keep one in the pocket attached to the waistbelt of my Optima and one in my tool kit (spare parts kit), which is always onboard with me as well.
