Re: O2tima Checklists

John,

Nice job of coming up with the condensed permanent handset checklist!

If he walks like an engineer...

and talks like an engineer...

and comes up with checklist solutions like an engineer...

Then there's absolutely no doubt he's an engineer!

And for those of you who think I'm making fun of engineers, which of course I am, I'm making fun of myself as well, because I too happen to be an engineer (well, at least in my former life, like most engineers).

Thanks Adrian - yes, alas I guess we can't ever shake the personality type that got us into engineering in the first place. Like yourself, that was a former life of mine, as well.

If anyone else wants a set of stickers like these, let me know. I have a few extra waterproof vinyl label sheets and can make duplicates in no time. The stickers are free, but you can always fly me to your location for installation on your handsets ...

Mark, as you well know because you trained me, I use the laminated Assembly, Post Assembly, Pre-Dive and Pre-Breathe Checklists you provided me religiously and I feel as though I have avoided many potential problems because of them; so consequently, the more experience and knowledge I gain, the more I realize how important it is to use the checklists each and every time I assemble my gear / enter the water, without exception, regardless of whether I think I can do it on my own!

Thanks again Mark!

Re: O2tima Checklists

Thanks Joe,

I now understand why a mushroom valve test pre-dive could be seen as less important on an O2ptima than a CCR with granular sorb (lower likelihood of debris in loop).

Tony

i would not poke fun at folks taking their time before a dive. nothing to do with which unit they r diving-just encouraging someone to hurry up and make a mistake.

Jon, I'll stick up for Tim on this one, because he's part of our group and is just doing the old Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s thing and razzing his fellow dive buddies. I do however understand how other divers might misinterpret his comments as making fun of divers for taking too long, which wouldn't be good when dealing with such a serious subject, but I assure you, Tim is one of our hardcore team and would never intend it in that manner - Tim is all about Doing It Right!

If that is the case, his custom title should read Netmage = Optima Fan

I mean, if he really wants to DO IT RIGHT
