| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Which Wing for Optima I am currently using a venture wing with a rite-source attached. I am planning to remove the rite source and only use offboard bailout. I am contimplating the idea of changing to the rec wing for more lift. Which wings are you guy/gals using and why?

| www.rebreather.com.br Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Which Wing for Optima I used a rec wing w/ SS plate for almost 2 years and it worked very well with steel tanks, dry, and up to three S80 bail, awesome trim and lift. The wing tends to go over the valves a bit, but I never had a problem reaching them, or the solenoid shutoff. I switched to the nomad system not long ago (have some ideas in mind) and it works as well as, just need to "open" the wing when taking lots of bail. Best, Zé. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Which Wing for Optima I'd keep the Ritesource if I was you (if you do lots of open water diving)...transfer it over to your new wing. I've just added one to my wing (on CK)...Just makes life easy if you wanna deploy an SMB. Otherwise you'd have to retrieve reg, shoot bag, start reeling and also somewhere in the middle put the reg back under the bungees on your bailout... Unless you'd have the SMB with LP hose nipple. Cheers, Marc

![]() | Re: Which Wing for Optima I have just now broken the 30 hour mark and I am diving a Nomad with a Rite Source. I am diving dry 90% of the time. I have steel 30's and it trims out perfectly with no additional weight. I hope that's worth $0.02 |

| DE/MD/NJ Wreck Diver ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Which Wing for Optima I started with my old Classic Wing but switched over to the Rec Wing. It's got a little less lift, but is more streamlined. The Classic Wing was a bit too large for the O2ptima. I was also using the longer hose and had an Auto Dump on it. I just went back to the shorter hose and took off the Auto Dump. I'll be using it in FL in a week or so. I'll let you know if I like it. Richie Last edited by diverreb : 4th April 2008 at 14:07. |
