New Foot...

Just made a new foot for my O2ptima.

After seeing John's foot I liked the idea of a handle, but I kept the rings on mine.

My other foot used to push on my back a bit so I put the Arc in this one to conform to my back.

The cutout serves as a carry handle to be used along with the top loop handle. Makes the unit easier to carry. I'd make the cut outs a little smaller if I do another one, but the material is very strong and so is the foot.

Material Cost:
3/8" Delrin - $40.00 including shipping
12" x 12" sheet from McMaster Carr

Re: New Foot...

Nice modification Richie. I have yet to dive my new aluminum bachplate, but since I saw your original posting, I've been considering adding some type of modification to mine, which would allow me to connect my bailout/deco bottles to the foot of the unit, because I think you may be on to something, which might be an improvement to the sidemount butplate system. I'm looking forward to seeing John and your plates in action next month in the Keys!

Thanks for sharing,

Adrian

Re: New Foot...

Nice. Will it work on my CK? Seems like a fair trade for a one night stay at the Canal Inn on Crows Nest.

Re: New Foot...

I sure like the design of your Optima foot. I replaced my foot strap with a 1/8 Sta. thick strap made a big deference in handling.

Re: New Foot...

I also like the design. The shape and cut outs look way cool. Have some green.
