Re: HH buttons get stuck when it's 29 deg F

Was lucky to get out yesterday! Not like the folks in sunny florida-Gauntlet in Salem Ma. . Poling Wreck-a bit protected from the 15-20kts winds. Air temp better 28 deg early then in the 40s (in the sun). HOWEVER- water temp was 37 deg. -unit and HH ran great! Opened up the cartridge after and it was barely used up. 40 min at 90'. So i am happy.

Boy! There's something you'd never see in the Meg forum!

Is that why all your Optima's are fading so quickly? Stop pissing on them!

I think there is a fetish crazed Optima contingent of the SCRUBS that is starting to make me wonder if us SCRUB Meg divers ought to just kind of slowly back out of the picture and let you guys do your thing.

Re: HH buttons get stuck when it's 29 deg F

As an aside, I have noticed sensitivity issues with the pezo switches on the Shearwater Pursuit when its been very cold. It skips and jumps through the menu and is sometimes difficult to operate. This has only ever happened on land when the units been in the garage overnight in 0c conditions.

Re: HH buttons get stuck when it's 29 deg F

All these posts of really cold weather causing various issues with equipment means a force greater than you is trying to tell you something..... STAY OUT OF THE WATER WHEN IT'S THAT FRIGGIN COLD!!!!!

Seriously, I used to be one of you who would dive in almost any weather...but then I came to my senses!

It has to be on the warm side for me now.

Topside weather of 50f (10c) and water Temps 45f (7.2c) are my minimums now.... No comments from the FL guys!

Not being a Florida guy, I reserve the right to comment here - Richie ... 45f is on the WARM SIDE for you?!?! So that remaining 13 degrees before water becomes a solid is where you draw the line?? As much as you bust my chops about diving in the winter, those aren't too far from my limits either, broseph. I just wouldn't be labeling them as 'on the warm side'!!

And yeah, yeah - I know ... this from the skinny dude who's never gotten a clear look at a deco line because of the shivering ...

This coming from a guy who thought he was within walking distance to the Expo Center at Beneath The Sea..... Well he is if you consider 4 miles walking distance! I'm there too, after being bumped from La Quinta... But at least they are paying for our rooms.

Anyway 50f is a long way off from roaming around a quarry and having the water freeze on your gear on the way back to the car and hearing your mushroom valves "Clicking" because they almost froze on the way to the water... There is a fine line between Sanity & Insanity.... I do believe you cross over that line every once in while!
