Optima Backplate - Final version ready for release

I know that a lot of you have been waiting for me to build a backplate for your Optima.

I have finally got all of the bugs and design flaws worked out of it and am ready to begin building them for others. I have purchased the material and subcontracted the forming of the aluminum. It is just a matter of the drilling, sanding, welding etc. (the hard part).

I have a list of names that have requested a plate, but I want to make sure that I am not missing anyone. These will be built on a first-come-first-serve basis. I have the material to build 20 plates and no more. If the demand is there for more, then I can always do another set of 20.

Please remember that I still have a job and it may take awhile before yours is ready.

The Price will be $400.00 + shipping (USD). I have spoken to Stuart (schford) and He has authorized me to post this item for sale on this site.

If you will want custom initals in the bottom, I will need to know prior to the start of fabrication.

PM me with any questions or to verify your order.

Thanks for all your interest,
Don

OK about payment.

I prefer PayPal, it is free for you and I have an account that allows credit cards etc.

dsix3@bellsouth.net is my account.

I am requesting at least 1/2 up front with the verification of initials (or generic) and the balance due prior to shipping.

Shipping
All prices are in U.S. dollars and do NOT include customs duties or value-added taxes (VAT), which vary depending upon destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the package recipient. Your order will ship with a true and correct itemized invoice along with a customs value declaration for the invoice amount.

The recipient can choose between UPS and USPS as the shipping method.

For international shipping, UPS is the quickest solution, usually in 2-4 days, and offers door to door tracking, however is more expensive.

USPS Express Mail international offers a more cost effective alternative, however will NOT provide door to door tracking information. Packages generally arrive in 1-2 weeks time. In some cases, real time tracking information is NOT available at all. Only choose USPS Express Mail International if you accept that tracking information is not available.

I almost posted the very same question, because I have the remora on both my sets of 13's and have had no problems with them whatsoever.

Therefore, I am curious to know what advantage I will gain with the DR Bands?

They are not needed - the remora will still work fine. But the 5.5 inch DR bands are a hell of a lot more stable when securing the larger cylinders. The remora is too mickey-mouse IMO. Also less corrosion issues as John pointed out.
