| DE/MD/NJ Wreck Diver Current Rebreather/s: | Remora Block Spring Pin I have two Remora Blocks where the pins no longer spring back in. Not a big deal, but if there is a way to remedy this I'd like to. Looks like there is a spring of some sort inside the little screw that causes the pin to pull back. It must have corroded out and I can't figure out how to replace it after playing with it for a bit. DiveRite doesn't seem to carry it as a spare part.... Thanks, Richie |

| Re: Remora Block Spring Pin would n't a set of tank banks made for the tank size be a simplier and more stable piece for this?

| DE/MD/NJ Wreck Diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Remora Block Spring Pin It's completely shot..... No tension or binding whatsoever. I'm assuming the spring, if that's the mechanism by which it works, is gone. I gotta believe that the screw, post & little plastic knob assembly are available from who ever is manufacturing the block for DiveRite. Could very well be an overseas vendor, which is why it's not available as a replacement part. Richie |

| Going Down? Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Remora Block Spring Pin I used a stainless steel doubles band for my steel 27's. added stiffer center plates with 2 through bolts to clamp it together and use the center hole to mount to backplate. It is much stabiler than the remora ever was.

Word back from the USA was that where the spring has been an issue (one only), the Remora unit was replaced by Dive Rite. Maybe you need to ask a different question, not about replacing a failed spring, just replacement of the faulty unit/s under warranty. Regards, Tony |

| DE/MD/NJ Wreck Diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Remora Block Spring Pin Hi Richie, One of the reasons I choose the O2ptima was DiveRite's commitment to their customers and the experiences I've had with their products. The way they have handled the few issues I may have had with those products really impressed me. This issue has been no exception. I followed up with my local Dive Rite distributer. Regards, Tony I didn't even have to contact them after posting here. I got a PM from DR that new blocks were on the way. First rate service from a first rate company!!!! Richie |
