Optima DSV Diagram

Does anyone have a detailed diagram of how the dsv goes back together? I have one of the original Optima and took the DSV apart to clean it. I re-assebled it and it works fine. The only thing that I am question is when you block the in halation side and inhale hard the mushroom and the black ring with move further into the housing. Does the inhale mushroom just rest in the case?

I don't know if the older DSV's are the same as the newer ones or not. The DSV on my unit has two stainless retaining clips that go into the barrel on each side. The mushroom valves are different for each side. Both have O-Rings. One has a lip on it, I believe it's the one on the inhalation side, and the other does not. The O-rings keep them firmly in place.

Re: Optima DSV Diagram

Chapter 5, page 5 of the most recent version of the O2ptima FX manual (available on a website that must remain nameless, but I bet you can guess) has a illustration of the DSV assembly. You may also have a very early one where the two non-return valves were identical and just installed in different orientations. I can correct this for you. If you have any questions at all, DONT GUESS, bring to me and I'll sort it out for you. -- Mark

Mark

I will take a stop by this week. From the looks of the weather down here it does not look like I will be diving soon.
