![]() | Optima plate I made this for my Optima so that the bottles would fit up close to the canister, makes avery thing a little shorter. The back plate that came with the unit is not broken and is in good shape. I just thought the other was better for me. Any comments? |

One more thing -- I see from your picture that you are rocking the older style Optima handsets. I might be mistaken, but there is a trade up option for the new ones. Good job on that backplate. |

From scratch all one peace. The alu. is not that much heaver than the plastic. I plan on diving it this weekend to see if there is any difference. This one is purity crud, I plan on making a few more a little more precise. One more thing -- I see from your picture that you are rocking the older style Optima handsets. ![]() | Re: Optima plate It looks to me like you raised the center ridge up much higher, is that correct? Canter ridge is about the same as the Optima plate. I plan on putting some type of plastic or rubber edging to protect the hose. The bottles or Cat 20s, the 13s drop with no change al so.Did you do anything around the hose through hole to protect against hose damage from rubbing against the aluminum edges? |

Probably could make one out of St.it would be a little more trouble.I do some cold water diving, most of the lakes around here have thermal cline in the lower 50s. If you made that shape out of a single piece of sheet metal, without any welding you done some fancy forming. Some of that metal's got to be thinner than it used to be ![]() That would be a mighty effort out of SS.
