You could rubber dip it or visit a rhino liner place (truck bed liner) and I bet they would spray it for you.
Very cool idea... I like that really well.... and it hides a multitude of sins...
Put what ever wear protection you are planning on the hose through and then coat the whole thing in bed liner....

Re: Optima plate

I have had very good success by using automobile door edging. It's cheap, and can easily be found in any auto parts store.

Rhino would probably make the plate over 1/4 in thick and then the extra weight. I could put a build up of epoxy around the edges. I did make the hole larger than shown.

Re: Optima plate

The bed liner idea was stolen from James- he did that on the PRISM plate that he designed- credit provided.

I agree that edging (inside of holes) to stop cuts and burrs.
McMaster lists some interesting items-

Plus, I like some of the ideas mentioned.

Planning on plating the metal? A little anodizing and a nice Teflon finish!

Harvey- thanks for the dive at Clear Springs…
I appreciate you tagging along on that dive; dives are always better with friends.
It was just a tad bit cold in a 3mil for 40 minutes.

Later, Andrew

The other thing would be to use an epoxy coating. Do a search online or go to dupont for a complete list of theirs. There are good epoxy coatings out there with high resilience to just about anything. Some are even to mil specs. I have used some epoxy coatings in harsh industrial environments and they stand up well. Also, then you could paint it a pretty colour, pink...or something, maybe "ocean green"....lol!
