EAC's and Tanks in Bonaire

Hi Everyone...

I was wondering if anyone had an update on where in Bonaire I may be able to obtain tanks and EAC's for my trip in January?

I looked at the last few discussion threads and still not have heard anything firm. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

Just got an email from Walt today.

He has Ali 13s and Steel 27's available to rent for the O2ptima.

Math wise, excess baggage charge is $50. Rental for a set of tanks is $10/day. If only diving 5 days it a wash.

With all the uproar at TSA might still be worth it for the head ache and not having your own tanks disappear.

Re: EAC's and Tanks in Bonaire

I'm heading there in March. He said another diver was also coming around the same time; he stated that if he had enough interest he would order the Cartriges. I told him I could use between 4-6 depending on if I meet any Rebreather divers to dive with. Haven't heard back to date.

For your information, Walt is a really nice guy and very helpful. I rented from him last year and will be getting my O2 from him again in the last week of February when I go back to Bonaire with my winter dive group.

I will be at the sand dollar, two doors down from Captain Dons from the last Saturday in Feb through March 1.

Further, Delta starts flying directly to Bonaire from Atlanta in February...they will be making flights on saturday. I can actually take two pieces of luggage with 70 pounds each with no charges......having flown over a million miles with them.

Lastly, For the TSA guys, my wife gave me some huge zip lock bags that will hold a 20 and even larger, I think. I printed up this message to put in the bag with the O2 valve.

Here is a link to the printout.....

Was in Bonaire last May Walt is a good guy he bent over backwards to make sure my O2 tanks got filed when I needed it. I compared my Luf. 13 to one of his 27's it was about 4 in longer.
