so since I am diving with a transpac (Nomad, really), it looks like I'll need 6 pounds or so. Maybe a couple of ankle weights and up the 2x2lbs to 2x3 lbs or so.
With a 7.5 Henderson whet suit in lake water I use 8 lb.s in the top pockets only and using the 13 Lufkin's. I had problems with my buoyancy until I got rid of the weight on my waste.

Where in Florida is the water that cold?

Re: Aluminum 20's

Well I finally got in the water with the AL 20's today. For grins, I also switched my Stainless Backplate to an AL Plate. I added a 12 pound weight belt and, well...Anyone want to buy my Steel 27's?

The trim and weight difference of the unit was significantly better. Next I'll try the AL 20's with the SS Backplate and put some extra weight elsewhere on the unit to get rid of the weight belt to see how that rides in the water.

I need to do a few more dives with the AL's in a few different configurations before I decide to sell the 27's or not. Hey, there you go.... I'm the Decider.

As soon as I finish that up , hopefully within a few weeks, I'll let you know.
