![]() | Has any one used the optima and the nomad BC system. I was interested in knowing if you still back mount the rebreather system and use the side mounts to hold your deco and bail out tanks or do you split up the rebreather to ride on your sides. Thx for all the help.

| www.rebreather.com.br Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Nomad side mount system When testing a travel configuration I tried to use the nomad with the optima by mounting the scrubber on the back of the nomad (just the scrubber, no stand, and no tanks in the back) using sidemount tanks for dil and O2, routing hoses sidemount style with extra dil hoses for the Adv/manual addition, and extra O2 hoses for solenoid/manual addition. The truth is that I couldn't find a way to make the scrubber to be secure enough on my back. It was loose and all over the place, and too low on my back. The scrubber needs to be kinda high, at shoulder level, and I was unable to figure out a way to do it on the transpac/nomad. Maybe with some sort of stand... Zé. |

![]() | Re: Nomad side mount system I use a backplate and Rec wing with the Nomad butt plate on my Optima. You can buy the butt plate separately. I leave the unit as is and sidemount my bailout. The butt plate is really nice for keeping the bailout bottles tucked up out of the way and not hanging down like normal stages. I even use a butt plate on my oc backmount rig. Hope that helps. The O2ptima does not come with a back plate. I use a Stainless Steel Transplate with a nomad plate and two bungees and a set of K-Rings. |
