![]() | Low O2 Sensor Readings Hey Everyone, We've been doing a body search for the past month at the lake at around 150ffw and I have been seeing some weird things with the O2 Sensor mV readings. I have replaced two sensors in the past month and even the new ones read below 42mV when calibrating. I am blowing through the things and I can't figure out why. Possible factors are: - Duracell batteries lately ilo Saft - Hotter than heck out there - 107 degrees and the temp may afect it - Dive conditions 150ffw, 54 degrees F, nasty as &$%@ Thanks! Bill |

Possible factors are: According to Deep Life, the main reason why any O2 cell degrades over time is that the electrolyte evaporates. I would say that exposing your cells to an environment such as you describe, electrolyte evaporation may be accelerated. Perhaps storing your sensors in a cooler environment when you are not using them may help?- Hotter than heck out there - 107 degrees and the temp may afect it - Dive conditions 150ffw, 54 degrees F, nasty as &$%@

Bill You should try and keep the cells in the 70-80sih temp range with at least 50% RH.. Don;t leave the cells exposed.. keep them sealed in something.. I had some friends that were working in very warm climate that kept complaining that their cells were only lasting 6 months top.. they told me they were leaving the lids open to dry and store in an air conditioned room.. I told them to stop this practice, they did... the cells started lasting much longer...
