![]() ![]() | Re: Bizzare FX feature? My unit (that I dive alot) gradually builds up 'white crap' as well, particularly when it's allowed to dry for a few days... It might be organic stuff coming from me, and things that grow... I think the stuff from the cartridge just made it visible... If you think about it in that light, I suspect he was right on target to use a degreaser.... I have never encountered this phenominum in my cannister. Mind you I don't let the EAC sit in the cannister overnight. I take out and either throw it out if expired or repackage in it's contatiner to be reused the next day or so. I flush the loop and CL's with fresh water every day, disenfect weekly, and dry out the canister, cell and harness every day as well. I am aware that some divers are quite happy to leave the EAC or sorb in their unit when they know they are diving the next day or two, with no ill effects. That's a personal preferences. Personnaly, It's a little more work, but I pefer to go through the above process, (cean & dry every dive day) and I am not suggesting that one way is better than the other . Hey, whatever works, works! Cornel

![]() | Re: Bizzare FX feature? While I wish I could keep my unit in the water every day, it does have to come out for a break sometimes. I get that white build up inside the canister also, but it takes a while. I am almost exclusively a salt water diver. I tried a number of things that didn't seem to work too well. Then when I was using a water and white vinegar solution on the handsets (last summer when it was having the shut out problem due to salt - before the new bodies came out) I gave the vinegar and water a try. Worked like a champ. No scrubbing just some solution on a paper towel and its gone. Cleaning Hints from Heloise - Karen |

I thought he only turned the dogs loose on I also gave the dogs a few rides around the pool on the back of my unit. There isn't much place to hide in that shallow pool. instructors and IT's (I've got a fin with one bite that was clean through) but Tom did the dogs stress test on Lisa too... so we can definately say the O2ptima is 'Rottweiler Resistant' ![]() I don't seem to get the white stuff in my canister. However, like SeaFox, I am pretty strict with working on my unit at the end of every diving day. |
