I do like the fact that issues like high/low po2 can be dealt with in a manner given you time to figure out the issue and most units give you ample warning when things arent right. If you do your pre-dive checks properly, and do what you are suppose to at the surface, 20 ft, etc.... you should be assured at depth atleast at the beginning of your dive that things are working ok and any deviation from that either feeling wise or equipment wise (solenoid not firing, buoyancy changes, unwarranted diluent addition) all could signify an issue..... Andy you stated "As I've said before, the balance in CCR diving is between how much you believe the unit should do vs. how much attention you think is required to have a safe dive-How much diver involvement is required by the unit design? And the cool thing is you have a choice on what you think that proportion should be... " I like that way of thinking!! Jason |
