Oxycheq wing inflator hose

Stupid question...
Am I the wrong shape with knuckles that scrape along the floor when I walk upright or is this inflator hose a bit on the short side? with it rigged on my SK I am either banging my head on the pods or reaching behind me "a la twinset shutdown" trying to reach the inflator hose. Reminds me of the hose on my Halcyon wing which always was just out of reach and sight and taught me buoyancy control in a drysuit as the inflate/dump was all I could reach!
Seriously I am thinking about replacing the inflator hose with a longer version such as the one on an OMS wing which comfortably reaches my waist when I dive twins.
Any suggestions/solutions?
Thanks in advance.

Mine just sits on the shoulder nice, I have not dived with it yet but it should be easy to reach.

Out of interest were did you get the wing from?

Me too was quite disappointed when i saw it for the first time.

I fixed it with a ring of bungee to the left of the harness and i had to practice a bit (before i had long one), but it works and dosen't interfere with the bail-out bottle that i clip to my left d-rings, so finally i decided that it is not so bad.

Nothing wrong with that in my book

I think you have hit the nail on the head there - by default Oxycheq try to make everything as Hogarthian as possible, so of course their inflator hose length is very similar to that used by Halcyon

The Halcyon hoses cost more, feel thicker and the fittings seem to be higher quality - but the Oxycheq ones seem to last just as long

You need the hoses to be the right length and the hose you have is the "right" length for a hogarthain rig for most people - "everyone" from a DIR perspective.

Use the hose you are happy with the length of - or get one/some the right length.

Be warned that some of the Apeks inflator hoses do not fit well with anything other than Apeks inflators.

Nope, great question! I thought the hose was much too short as well. There were some other issues with the wing (personal preferences), I ended up switching wings.

Re: Oxycheq wing inflator hose

You can order the wings with a longer hose...

I have done exactly as you are thinking. I replaced the short hose that was on my new Oxycheq with the long hose of my old OMS wing. I've had past experiences with runaway inflators (not on the OMS) and the short hose instilled fear in my heart (being less able to reach the QD).

Had the same thoughts about the hose too but it seemed to work just fine underwater though.
