CCR Training in Sardinia?

Greetings all,

I've been bitten by the bug after watching a couple of divers using what appeared (to the extremely untrained eye) to be Inspirations on the former USS Oriskany in Pensacola last weekend.

I'm moving to La Maddalena, Italy next month and there's my dilemma. I'm wondering if anyone knows of an instructor on Sardenia? I had seen a couple of posts indicating there were CCR divers there, but could not find any info about training.

Protec Sardinia should be able to accomadate you.

Matt ( mattmexico here at Rebreather World ) does at least some of the training there.

Re: CCR Training in Sardinia?

yo

I just returned from Sardinia where I did teach a Meg course and two Inspiration courses. When on Sardinia I am with the rebreather friendly ProTec Sardinia dive center in Cala Gonone. They have sorb, o2, parts and stages for Rebreather divibg, as well they do have a Inspiraiton on site.

I am personally not all the time in Sardinia but plan to be ther again in late spring next year.

There are some Italian Inspiration and I believe even a Megadolon Instructor in Italy. IANTD Italy hq with Fabio Ruberti should be able to point them out. Fabio does speak and write english very well.

greetings
Matt

Re: CCR Training in Sardinia?

Jim,
send a mail to Aldo Ferrucci, alias bubnotbub, via Rebreather-world. He lives in Genua (Italy) & Cavalaire (France) and teaches most ccr's (inspo classic, vision, meg, optima, ourobouros, submatix,kiss...) He speaks Italian, French & English.
I've just done my mod 1 inspo vision course with him in France & will be doing my trimix course with him in Sardinia in 2007. A great guy & a fine but severe instructor!!

regards,

johan

I may also come to Sardina from Nettuno to organize the course.

Re: CCR Training in Sardinia?

All good stuff. I didn't realize how much presence there was for RBs around the world. As a matter of fact, I didn't realize people were crazy enough do dive these things before abouta month ago.

I am trying to get set up with instruction before I leave, but I don't know if I will have time. It's good to know there will be plenty of options once I get there. Thanks for all your replies.
