Naui Nobubbles (??) recomended 1 part Virkon to 99 parts water.. How does this work with the tablets from Horse Active? I'm sure there are recomendations on the tub but they may be stronger for use with Horses/Animals??

Hello,

Dive Rite Express now has the Virkon (Relyon) in stock and shipping. They have the fast desolving tablet form which I am looking forward to. The powder stuff definately seemed less convenient. Definately dont' inhale the powder form.

Dive Rite Express sells the tablets and a nice spray bottle. You only have to figure out how much to use one time, and then you can mark the bottle with a fill line so that it is fast and easy after.

I keep mine in the fridge, Seems to stay the same color for months.
If left out it turns clear in a week or 2.

There are suggested mixes on the powder form container; general use is 1:120. Not sure the solution needs to be any stronger for horses/animals as it is still being used to kill the same bacteria, viruses etc. - just different mammals :-)

the colour is just a pH indicator, doesn't mean that the active ingredients will be still working. i'd still follow the directions and throw after a week.

Betadine but use a 10% solution and really rinse it out well. It's nasty stuff if you inhale it. Betadine is used in hospitals, so should be available.
