Wings for CCR

Hi ye all,

do double bladder wings considered the standard for CCR Trimix diving? or is this redundency redundant?

is there an official opinion for IANTD or other associations?

cheers

Not that I know of.

Having said that, it is a good idea to have a redundant buoyancy device for trimix diving in general. And different people approach it differently in different forms: redundant wing, drysuit, neutral rig, DSMB, lift bag, etc... to name a few.

Concerning which aspect ?

AFAIK, IANTD is probably the bigger tech agency than most. As far as Rebreather training, it has the most comprehensive list of units.

However (and this is IMHO only) it is the specific instructor who will make the difference and not the agency. Most teaching agenda will cover about the same topics and skills, but it is the experience of the instructor that will vary.
