![]() | Rebreathers in cold water (Evolution Rebreather) How cold water can a rebreather be used in? In Denmark in winther the water temperature is sometimes about 1 degrees,- does that give any problem to the Vision computer and the Scrubber in the Evolution Rebreather? What about the buttons on the computer - are they easy to use even with thick gloves on? ![]()

Using any rebreather in cold weather requires some precautions, the biggest is that you have to get the scrubber hot..In Denmark in winther the water temperature is sometimes about 1 degrees,- does that give any problem to the Vision computer and the Scrubber in the Evolution Rebreather? I have used it in water near freezing with the surface temperature well below freezing.. calibrate the unit at a reasonable temperature, dont do it immediately after it is exposed to a drop in temperature otherwise the calibration will be wrong..

The coldest was minus 5 out of water and about 1 degree in water. I use SeaTech dry cloves without problems. Yours Poul |

I did hear a few people mention on CCR DK that their Vision computer did not like the cold. It's easy to test, throw the whole scrubber lid with computer and everything in the freezer. Let it sit for a few hours and fire it up to test. If the display is funny, send it back to AP to be fixed. It is supposed to be able to handle that.In Denmark in winther the water temperature is sometimes about 1 degrees,- does that give any problem to the Vision computer and the Scrubber in the Evolution Rebreather?
