O2 flush

When doing an O2 flush at say 20-30 feet and not wanting to suffer any effects from possible Hyperoxia. Why couldn't I just breath from OC just for the short time it takes to flush, check and then flush again to get the PPO2 back down to what ever set point I have it at?

I know no one likes to go OC, but this would serve 3 purposes,

(1) To keep me safe from too much oxygen exposure.
(2) It would allow me to practice switching back and forth between OC and closed curcit.
(3) Allow me to check my cells.

Re: O2 flush

Hi James,

it will be rather difficult to move the oxygen around without being on the loop. This ofcourse depends on the rebreather you use.

Re: O2 flush

I f it is an inspiration it can be hard. May be if you let the gas escape through the mouthpiece but still it will be a PITA.

You can do the flus at 20ft normally and then go OC, if you want to see how high the cells go at 30ft.
