![]() | CL Do you dry them I live in the Pacific NW (Oregon) and nothing ever drys out until summer (which lasts maybe if were lucky 2 months). But how do you go about drying the insides of your CL's? I heard a hairdryer (one that can be set to just output air with no heat) works well. Or do you not even bother with drying them out? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CL Do you dry them I hang them upside down and tap them occasionally to move the drops down. Sometimes I put a little toweling at the bottommost part of the Cl to wick away water. Meg Cl's are really easy to dry. YBOD lungs are a tad harder. I used a cool air boot fan in the past to dry both the hoses and lungs. Works OK. I once had a spider crawl into a lung and a scorpion inside the YBOD mouthpiece. This was in Mexico and would have been a very caliente surprise! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CL Do you dry them I use a 500W blower that is used for inflating rubberboats. It has to have high flow, but low pressure. Also it helps, that the CL can be fully openes to brush and clean it. Never used desinfectant, because i can clean and rinse and dry every bit of it. Michael |

With good luck you wont have time to allow them to dryOr do you not even bother with drying them out? dive often! After a good sanitation rinse with virkon or some other agent, I let my lungs drain the best I can and sling the water out of the hose and go diving again. With past experience with scr that would flood if you spit, the OTS CL are very tolerent of moisture and I realize that if there are a few drops of water no big deal, the loop is moist anyway.... There is a prudent amount of maintenance and there is overkill, I caution divers to not overdue too much tear down as things wear and tear with removal and replacement. I've seen divers have more o-ring problems and leaks due to repeated good intentions. Be practicle and enjoy the rebreather with acceptable prudent maintanance. Deep Thought |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: CL Do you dry them Very easy to dry my CK CLs. After I remove them from the case, I insert some paper towel into them to get most of the moisture out, and after that, let them air dry after making sure that I put them away in a "blown up" manner that is, not laying flat. They're usually completely dry in a matter of hours. Andre |
