Re: two different soda lime in the same canister

Done the same myself when i went from draegersorb to using sodasorb in my converted Dolphin. Noticed no difference. Have done it a couple of times with no ill effects.

Re: two different soda lime in the same canister

I have used Dragersorb 4-8, Sofnolime 4-8 & 8-12, and Sodasorb 4-8 & 6-12 in all my breathers and have had instances where I have mixed brands as you described; residual in one keg is not enough for a full fill….

While it is not common for me to have different brands of chemical open at the same time, it is common for me to have kegs of different mesh size open at the same time and I try to use it efficiently once opened.

The gift of hindsight has prevented me from knowing before I start filling my scrubber that the keg is not sufficient for a fill, so I guess I top it up with what is available. Had I known prior to filling I would have mixed the two together for a more homogenous blend. Having used the Grace Sodasorb 6-12 on so many occasions, and considering the broad range of particle size without any problems on packing, wob, co2, etc….I guess I would prefer an even mixed scrubber bed.

Re: two different soda lime in the same canister

This might be a silly question but is there any way of checking that a bucket
of sorb is still good ? A simple chemical test ?

Even if it has been stored correctly it may still have gone bad.

Sorry if this this covered in training courses, I've only just got my KISS
and not done the course yet.
