Rebreather Airport regulations?

Hi All.

I need to get a feeling for any potential problems involved with air travel with a rebreather.

I will be travelling to and from USA on international flights, and within USA on domestic flights. Am I going to get a lot of grief from customs as it will be a hectic itinerary?

How long will it take to clear customs?

Peoples first hand experience would be a great help.

Many Thanks.

I have found Lufthansa quite picky but with a bit of education about CCR (fancy scuba gear), no problems. Had manual in backpack just incase.

No Problems at all, call it SCUBA gear, and carry the manual or an ad for it with a picture if you can.

I took my KISS in my carry on luggage. Everyone expected to see me get the full body cavity search. Not a single question. Last time I took a canister lights with batteries in my camera pack, I got stopped every checkpoint.
