![]() | Re: Aspiring rebreather diver Personally mate I know 5/8 of f*#k all , but in saying that all the research i done on this very same subject the answers i got was to go the sk every time. If your going to make the step bloody make it, don't pussy foot. You will go back to using the sk for shallower stuff but, if you'll excuse the pun, you'll only flog the dolphin off ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Aspiring rebreather diver Thanks for the input. All that being said, some people have told me a few bad things about the Sport KISS. Kind of along the lines of it's a waste of money. Unfortunatly, there aren't too many rebreather clinics that come around here, so I have yet to be able to try one out myself. Agh! decisions, decisions. I'll just bite the bullet and go with the Ouroboros right off the bat. Sound good? Hmmmm -- there are a ton of options out there. Getting your 1st CCR is a big step (that is unless you are the guy who won the mega millions lotto this past Tuesday -- and if you are, I am your long lost brother!) But seriously, it's a big step.Keep in mind that for every bad story someone has about a unit, there are probably just as many good stories. Here are some things to think about: - What sort of diving am I going to be doing? - How long are my dives going to be? - Do I want an electric unit or a manual one? - If the unit I get needs service, where do I go to get it fixed? - How long will it take to get fixed...is it going to Florida, Canada, Washington or back to England? I am diving in Milwaukee this weekend. I've got a Meg, if you'd like, I could swing by and you could check it out! Let me know -- and good luck! |

I'd look at the Classic Kiss over the SK for manual control [mCCR] over the loop or the Inspo [or varients] for electronic control [eCCR]. It is possible to convert the Dolph to mCCR fairly easily. If your diving for the next 2-3 years will be above 40m then the Dolph is agood buy, if deeper than 40 then look at CCR.
