Yet another KISS on the way!

From the looks of things here, Friday was a good day for Jetsam!

I also finalized my order of a KISS Classic! It is my first rebreather and I am like a kid at Christmas! I put a lot of thought into which unit to buy over the past year or so. Between lurking here and endlessly pressing everyone I meet that dives CCR, I decided upon the KISS. I will be doing my training the week of Sept. 2nd with Tom Huff of Northeast Scuba in Chelmsford MA. Hopefully it will be here soon so I can get back to normal and start thinking/talking about something other than rebreathers! Maybe then some of my friends and coworkers will stop ducking me to avoid listening to me babble on and on about rebreathers and diving! Well, then again, maybe not!

Thanks to everyone here on Rebreather World that gave me advice, whether they knew it or not!

Re: Yet another KISS on the way!

Congratulations on purchasing your KISS. I am also leaning toward the Kiss Classic as well, but haven't ordered one yet. What other kits were you considering, and what pushed you to selecting the Kiss Classic? Just wondering as it looks like I'm in the same boat you were in a couple of months ago.

Thanks,

Eric

Talking Re: Yet another KISS on the way!

I (finally!) received Kiss Classic # 295 on Friday! I stayed up all night putting it together. Now I just have to wait until next week to start my training!

The biggest factor for me was probably the simplicity of the design, it makes a lot of sense to me. If you watch this board, you will see a tremendous number of experienced rebreather divers switching to Kisses, and along with that, every rebreather diver I spoke to told me if they had choice other than their unit, it would be a Kiss. On top of that I am told (can't really offer my own opinion on this yet!) that starting out on a MCCR gives you a better base in CCR diving, than starting out on a ECCR. Their safety record also seems to be very good. When I initially started looking at making the purchase, price was a definite factor, the Kiss seemed to be the best value for the dollar, however in the end I don't think that I would have decided on a different unit regardless!
