New to CCR

Hi,

Thought it was time I introduced myself - have been scanning the forum for some time trying to absorb as much info as possible.

Just got myself a 2nd hand Inspo classic - MOD 1 next week.

Would love to hear any advice anyone can give me for doing MOD 1.

I mainly hear that the only real thing to do is prepare yourself mentally for how bad your bouyancy will be and how much you will want to throw the unit in the bin after day 2-3??.......anyone got any different views/advice?

All the best

Roy

Good luck with it Roy... read the user's manual and the course student manual and know them BEFORE walking into the classroom. Buoyancy issues are a bit overstated, it'll come to you. Have fun... and expect to waste a lot of diluent on the first few dives...

Re: New to CCR

As has been said, read up in advance. Don't worry to much

The bouancy came together better for me after the 3rd dive.

Enjoy it and good luck.

Hi Roy,

You have taken the first step and joined Rebreather World and you are most welcome!!

Everyone who takes the course feels a little bit nervous and a bit afraid our skills may be lacking when it comes to CCR diving but the fact is the MOD 1 course is supposed to give you the tools to dive the unit safely and maintain it in a condition suitable for safe diving.

The Perfect Buoyancy etc may take you a while after you complete the MOD 1 course but remember the Instructor is trying to give you the benefit of their experience and ensure you understand the principles of the Unit and how to dive it safely so ask plenty of questions and if you do not understand something then say so.

And above all try to enjoy it.

Have Fun!

Regards
