Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver

Hello all. It is very sad that I have come here for this reason. I am not a diver but I did meet Mr. Davie. He always had time to talk and share his knowledge on many subjects. He was an inspiration to many and will be missed. My condolences to the family.

I have some more photo's and will post when I find them. These were taken during the summer of 2005. Mr. Davie was training our public safety dive team.

I knew Rob from ScubaBoard where we were both Moderators. Anyone who has done that job, on a board like this, knows you can get a pretty good feel for your peers character.

Robs character was outstanding and he was a character. Two things that made him aces in my book. I will miss him a great deal but take solace in the fact he has gone home. Good men like him always go home.

Semper Fi friend .....

Rob,

As you can read you're sorely missed by everyone.
Thanx for everything I learned from your posts, and thanx for helping me put my avatar up. Incredible how patient you were. An example to everyone.

Truly a great loss to everyone.

Strength and condolances to everyone who knew him, specially his loved ones.

denz.

.......I am an idiot who missed invitation for meeting with Rob in Houston .....

We , Russians have myth , that when God's army needs to get stronger , He call for best guys from this world . Lord got a pilot and diver , what a fantastic combination . But what an emptyness left here !
Sorry for some pathetic words , but I am just shoked .
Rob , take care and see you one day .

Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver

BigJetDriver made an impression on me when I joined the rebreather community not much more than a year ago. I may never have shaken his hand or dived with him as some of you here have on Rebreatherworld.com. But Rob's knowledge, confident online welcoming and genuine concern for fellow divers clearly showed through his posts and explains why I have a lump in my throat as I write this.

Sincere condolences to Rob's family.
