A real gentleman who truly enjoyed this activity and seemed to always focus on the positive from my observations and interactions with him over the past couple of years. My condolences to family and friends. He is missed! John |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: In memorium: Rob Davie This one didn’t hit close to home, this one hit home, if home is where the heart is. Rob was a multifaceted person, a passionate and dedicated man that always aspired to raise the bar. He was willing to spend the time and effort to make his world a better place. He did many different things, and by all accounts he did them well. I know he was a family man, I know he was pilot. But I knew him as a patriot, as diver and as a friend. He was proud of his country and his home state, the Great Republic of Tejas. He served them in the armed forces and in law enforcement. He loved diving, and dedicated himself as an instructor, training technical and professional divers alike. As a friend he was fiercely loyal, always keeping in touch, always there, always ready to listen, to share and to laugh. Yet he was not afraid to criticize those things he loved. Constructive, with the goal of improvement, not ill willed, not condescending. Rob had strong convictions, yet he was open to most any idea or believe, ready to listen and to learn, willing to accept them when they were not his own and strong enough to admit when he was wrong . Rob was a true gentleman, with a big heart and a big smile. I will cherish the memories of our time together, the shared meals, the many conversations we had, the inspiration and the friendship he gave me. John Rawlings found the perfect words: "Rob really mattered." He mattered to my life. I hope we meet again, Rob. Farewell, my friend, and God speed!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver A shock to here this terrible news. Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet Rob. He was a very kind man and a great sports enthusiast. He was kind enough to send some of his beautiful pictures for my website. After hearing all the bad news from Egypt I feel sad of all these lost people! I hope rob's family will find courage and strength in these dark days. I guess that's not to be now. It was Rob who invited me onto Rebreather World after we cleared up a misunderstanding on TDS when he mistook my poor attempt at sarcasm as a parrotting of GI3's views on rebreathers. I will miss him very much. Dave T |
