![]() | Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver Rob I will always remember the inspiration you always gave to me and others. All the Good Times sheared at the dive shop and lunches at Dos Moss. You will always have a place in my heart and mind. Your journey has just begun. No one understands accepted you. The stories and Good times we sheared will never be forgotten, and I haven’t forgotten about the lunch I owe you. There will away be a lunch ticket waiting. Rob you will be greatly missed. Thanks for being my friend. My prayers go out to your wife Sheryl and son Sean and all love ones. You would do the same for me. Your friend always never forgotten David Last edited by scubaplus204 : 27th April 2006 at 19:28. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver NOOOOO..... I'm absolutely stunned, I sent him the last Avatar with the pig flying with the gold around him and at Christmas the Santa on the front of the nose cone. What a slam to the heart and head. My first post was responded first by him and the tone eluded to his prior military service (NAVY) and answered a quick size up with verification that we were both connected by a Naval tradition. In the U.S. Navy, when a ship crosses the equator a time-honored ceremony takes place. This is a Navy tradition and an event no sailor ever forgets. With few exceptions, those who have been inducted into the "mysteries of the deep" by Neptunus Rex and his Royal court, count the experience as a highlight of their naval career. Members of Neptunus Rex's party usually include Davy Jones, Neptune's first assistant, Her Highness Amphitrite, the Royal Scribe, the Royal Doctor, the Royal Dentist, the Royal Baby, the Royal Navigator, the Royal Chaplain, the Royal Judge, Attorneys, Barbers and other names that suit the party. Officially recognized by service record entries indicating date, time, latitude and longitude, the crossing of the equator involves elaborate preparation by the "shellbacks" (those who have crossed the equator before) to ensure the "pollywogs" (those who are about to cross the equator for the first time) are properly indoctrinated. All pollywogs, even the Commanding Officer if he has not crossed before, must participate. Rest in peace Trusty Shellback brother in the solemn mysteries of the ancient order of the deep.
