Currently in Newark, waiting for a Conti flight to Portland, what I would rather do is grab a flight to Houston and see where Rob called home, The Republic of Tejas, and come pay my respects to our good friend. I never met Rob face to face, but have learned plenty from him and we spoke on the phone once for over an hour just chatting about our favorite subjects, diving and flying. Sheryl, thanks so much for sharing some more about Rob, it means a lot to all of us. To Rob, wherever you are, Im sure you are enriching those around you, its just who you are. Take Care Big Jet Driver!

![]() | Re: In memorium: Rob Davie, aka BigJetDriver My husband Dennis first met Rob and his wife Sheryl in Laredo, Texas when they were both in the Air Force. After Dennis and I married we moved to Houston, Texas and were neighbors and close friends to both Rob and Sheryl. Through the years we moved so many times and lost and regained contact and finally made recontact again last year. This is such a shock to both of us, but at the same time we knew that Rob always loved to 'live on the edge'. He lived his life to the fullest! I can't say that Rob would ever have said in old age that he didn't do everything that he desired to do. A life lived the way it was intended....bringing joy, love and a sense of purpose to everything that he ever endeavored to do. We will always remember Rob as a wonderful husband and a loving father to Sean, their only child. I am having all sorts of flashbacks of our times together. Thank you members for allowing me to indulge myself and bring honor to the memory of Rob Davie a truly wonderful human being. I can't begin to tell you how much you will be missed and how fortunate that we could call ourselves your friends. See you again Rob....we love you. |

I second the suggestion. So do I. It's only recently that I joined and I must say it was a warm welcome especially considering we, as far as I knew at the time, only shared a passion...
