It must also be very hard on unit manufacturers when anyone dies for whatever reason on one of their units.

A few weeks ago we started to put together a plan for a trip together later this year. Sad, sad day. Rest in peace Fred. My thoughts go to your family. My thoughts also go to the other diver who helped. I read you put your life in jeopardy to help Fred. I hope you are recovering soon. If anything, remember that you tried hard man. Go easy on yourself. Philippe Chris

Top guy. Really solid diver. I'm really sad. Cheers Dave Walton Good, that another diver was there, otherwise it would have been a heart-attack again. Maybe NOW people start to think about the machines, the training, the procedures and the divers and maybe the ask NOW why there are never reports published afterwards. It is sad to hear that another oldtimer is gone... Michael |

| Re: Fred Evans All my respects to Fred RIP but spare a thought for the owners of the Trident Jamie and Stuart who will be always wondering if they could have done anything to prevent this from happening or to have helped in anyway they could. Full respect to the diver that risked his life. Last edited by schford : 15th April 2006 at 08:05. Reason: Memorial thoughts ONLY - not for discussion of the accident itself |

I have spoken to Fred about various re breather matters in the past he was always very helpful and a great bloke. A great loss.
