Re: Fred Evans

I hope we can all spare a thought for all those effected when something like this happens. The operators, the crew. It must also be very hard on unit manufacturers when anyone dies for whatever reason on one of their units.

I can't believe it. A few weeks ago we started to put together a plan for a trip together later this year. Sad, sad day.
Rest in peace Fred. My thoughts go to your family.
My thoughts also go to the other diver who helped. I read you put your life in jeopardy to help Fred. I hope you are recovering soon. If anything, remember that you tried hard man. Go easy on yourself.
Philippe
I couldn't say it better I did a double take to make sure, a very sad event Fred was a good man, our thought go out ot his family and as Philippe said to the second diver I wish you a speedy recovery.

Very sad news. I'm shocked.

If Fred can die on an Rebreather anyone can. Top guy. Really solid diver.

I'm really sad.

Cheers

I can not agree more !
Good, that another diver was there, otherwise it would have been a heart-attack again.
Maybe NOW people start to think about the machines, the training, the procedures and the divers and maybe the ask NOW why there are never reports published afterwards.
It is sad to hear that another oldtimer is gone...

Re: Fred Evans

All my respects to Fred RIP but spare a thought for the owners of the Trident Jamie and Stuart who will be always wondering if they could have done anything to prevent this from happening or to have helped in anyway they could. Full respect to the diver that risked his life.

Re: Fred Evans

I have just returned from holiday and read with disbelief the tragic news of Fred's death. I have spoken to Fred about various re breather matters in the past he was always very helpful and a great bloke.

A great loss.

My admiration to the OC diver

Re: Fred Evans

I just can’t believe the news. What a shock. My condolences to the family and friends. I sure wish as a community we could get to the real issue in an attempt to increase all of our safety.
Fred you are missed.
