Reliable information about the accident is very scarce at this point. The report only mentioned he failed to return from the dive. Lewis was an inspiring person, loved by everyone. To him nothing was impossible. He is and will always be missed. No matter what it is an incredibly devastating time for all involved. My heart goes out to all to friends and family D. |

| Re: Possible inspiration diver lost off Sydney? My name is Brian, I grew up with Lewis's Dad Jim, we lived next door to each other and were mates from the age of about 3yrs old. I have two daughters and can only guess at the feeling of loss Jim and Viv are feeling at present. I have printed all the massages of condolance I have found on the web and will be passing them on the Jim & Viv, they of course may have read most of them by now. Jims passion was sailing. his father (also Jim) was a sail maker in Liverpool Jim, Viv and their two sons Lewis and Mathew lived by the sea, spent most of the leasure time either sailing on or diving under the sea. You might say a family of "old salts" I have been impressed with all the messages of condolance and I'm sure all of Lewis's freinds and family in the UK feel the same, I would love to hear some more tales and anecdotes of Lewis's time in Australia, prehaps some of you could post some stuff with any photos you may have, I think it would be appreciated. Its seems Lewis had a great buch of mates in OZ and like us you must be gutted. Take care you lot! See ya B.S. bs2@btopenworld.com |

We have lost a good friend and buddy and we will always remember Lewis' humour, and the advice and support he was so generous in giving. I will always cherish the memory of our last meeting just days before this fateful day in February. Thanks for your message Sarah.
