| #1 COPIS Mini Meg Girl ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Gordon Smith I met Gordon and Kim at Dema 2005, what a wonderful time!! We all went out to dinner and the jokes were flying - It was such a pleasure meeting Gordon, and he will be truly missed. Gordon has touched so many people with his great sense of humor and his knowledge in our rebreather world, he had such a kind soul and his legacy will live on. It indeed is a sad day, my heart cries out ... why why why.. Kim my prays are with you and your family. There isn't words that truly express this loss that we are going through, again my thoughts and prayers are with you .... it is such a sad day

| Cap Ron scourge of the NW ![]() ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | God must have needed a rebreather Having thought about this all day, I imagine a certain conversation went sorta like this. With the voice of Bill Cosby... and apoligies to christians everywhere... a voice booms from the heavens in Port Moody... GORDON!! I want you to build me a rebreather... Gordon replies..."Sorry God, we are two weeks out, my machinist is sick, and I have an order to fill that is ahead of yours" The voice booms out again... GORDON!! If that is the case, then I expect a better price than mere mortals pay. Gordon replies... "Sorry God, I would love to help you out, but here at Jetsam, everyone pays the same price...get in line" the voice booms out one last time... GORDON!! ... welcome to Heaven, get busy.

![]() | Re: Gordon Smith This is very sad news. It feels like a loss of a good friend to me. I met Gordon at DEMA in Houston. He was very helpful and informative answering my questions at that time. His humour was also much appreciated. It was this encounter, as well as many phone conversations with Gordon and Kim, that helped sway our decision to become a CK divers. What a great loss to us all. Our sincerest condolences to Kim, and the Jetsam family. -Bob and Amy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Gordon Smith My girlfriend and I met Gordon in Seattle a month ago at the rebreather tryout. I was curious about the valves on his new OC DSV and so he amiably demonstrated the mechanics of one while he stood in the shallow end with a Sport KISS on his back. And then two weeks ago I spoke to him on the phone about my blowing an o-ring on my baby booster. I find it hard to believe that he is no longer here. The fact that this thread is on its #th page should tell you what effect Gordon had on this very small rebreather community. Gordon's passing is truly a huge loss. |

Late one Saturday afternoon was getting ready for a trip and was boosting a couple of tanks when my baby booster stopped boosting... Rather discouraged I decided to call Jetsam and leave a message crying for help...To my surprise the phone was answered by Gordon himself... He proceeded to have me take the phone outside to listen to the sound of my sick booster. He walked me through breaking the unit down and fixing the problem. 30 minutes later it was happily boosting gas again... Dive Safe.. M |
