A truly sad loss to us all. Rest in peace, Penny and Jacques |

| Re: Jacques Filippi I never knew Penny but what I heard from Jacques was that she must have been a wonderful person, sharing the same passion for diving. My deepest condolences to her family. Jacques was a true friend to me, a man with style, a real gentleman. He had the warmest heart one could imagine, he really cared for others. At work, he was my second half, we did not need words to understand each other. He was my soul mate. I still can see the glint in his eyes and his smile.... I will miss him so much. My heart is with Christine, Margeaux and Carol in these sad days. "How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year..." (Pink Floyd) Kurt |

![]() | Re: Penny Glover I have known and worked with Penny very closely over the last couple of years. I heard of the tragic news the evening it happened... I couldn't believe what I had been told... I put the phone down and instantly called up her number on my phone...finger poised to dial... I never did.... It is now 10 days since I heard the news.. I am coming to terms with it.. this is the first time I have lost a friend to the sport we all love so much.... it has hit me hard... I have watched the internet fill with tributes to Penny - I have felt numbed until now... Penny, wherever you are, you will always be with me in the water. What I learned from you will never be forgotten and your influence will always shine through. I can only hope to be half as eloquent as you were in the water. You will live on in the hearts, minds and teachings of rebreather divers and instructors around the world.. you touched so many with self efacing grace... I will miss you always.... |

| Re: Penny and Jacques Hello, I am Jacques's partner. I just wanted to tell you all how touched we are by your kind msg. Thank you. The French police is still searching. They managed to get a remotely controlled camera. They should start using it tomorrow if the weather forecast is ok. I want them back. I will not give up. Christine |

![]() | Re: Penny Glover I've had the fortune to meet Penny in Sardinia, last September. She had to come back before the end of the diving expedition but we should meet again in France in November. I didn't can and did regret to loose this occasion for have fine dives and meet she again. Also if we have had few moments to share our passion about diving I feel I've lost really a friend, and a diving buddy. Hope my english may be enough to convey what I feel. Dear Penny we all mis you. | Re: Penny Glover & Jacques Filippi Isn’t it sad how a person’s presence gets taken for granted, how their individuality and influence are only truly felt and appreciated once they have departed? Jacques was a person of great charisma and of huge personality. He was not only enthusiastic about everything he did but extremely compassionate about the people around him. His ability to inspire people to such a potpourri of emotions was unique, often veiling his caring and considerate personality. To me he was always supportive, appreciative, and a true gentlemen. Jacques, I will miss you and your leadership, may you rest in peace and your memory linger. |

![]() | Re: Penny Glover & Jacques Filippi All my condoleances to Penny's family and friends, as well as for the family and friend of her dive buddy on that bad day, Jacques Filippi. What can one say when such a shining person disappears? I met Penny three years ago during one AHR conference where rebreather divers were sharing passion and experience. After this encounter we became close friends and I took several courses with Penny always learning and discovering complete new aspects of the diving world, diving location, techniques, equipments. Penny was brilliant, wint a tremendous knowledge and experience and still very easy to talk to and always inspirating. We did many dives together and run two SCR courses. It has been a wonderful experience and probably the times that I have learned the most about the sea and diving. Penny's advices and comments were always straight to the point, humorous and worth a million. She was so friendly and respected by all of us. Now we all have to continue without her, and I am sure that by keeping on with our passion and trying to reach our dreams is what would make her happy. Penny, I miss our discussions about pedagogy, our 100 projects to come, our diving together. I miss you and will never forget you ! I am enclosing a picture has been taken during a training for SCR in Alsace in September this year. Penny. Many thanks for all , I hope that where you are is beautiful. ![]() | Re: Penny Glover & Jacques Filippi It was only in October that Penny trained me to dive a SCR and advanced Nitrox . Her generousity with her knowledge and experience knew no bounds . She was the most safty- concious diver I have ever met . She drumed it into me many times everyday "make sure you are carrying enough bale-out to get you back to the surface " One of her favourite sayings was "a good dive is the one you come back from " . I cannot believe that Penny has gone , but I know she will live on through the people she knew and the students , like me, she trained so hard to enjoy "good Dives" Thank you Penny for your generous nature and for the skills you taught me which will allow me to enjoy many "good dives" - I'll try my best not to let you down . |
