I knew her in Saloon plongee Paris two years ago. I was an absolutely begginer in this time but she was explaying me how the Voyager Rebreather works. It was a 20-30 minutes talk.
In that time i realised how good person she was.
I feel very sad.
I will pried for her and his buddy and families

Very sad news indeed, my thoughts go out to Penny's family and friends.
i had the pleasure of Penny's company the evening before the dive show, what an amazing woman she will be sadly missed by many people and her passing will be felt by the hole dive community,
we have lost many good divers of recent which really brings it home how fragile we are in the underwater world.
please dive safe.

I am Penny's sister. I just wanted to tell you all how touched we are by your kind wishes and to know how highly Penny is regarded.

The latest news is that the Coastguard have called off their search. They seem to think there is no more they can do. We go to France tomorrow. All we can do is hope and pray for a miracle.

Dear Fiona,

when Penny was in Italy she was sleeping in our house and we have often been her guests in her new house in France. We were very good friends of her and we really liked her very much.
We will never forget her smile and we want to remember her like that.

I always find myself with little to say when extarodinary events like this happen. This week I have read so many posts in different websites and recieved so many emails from people that we touched by Penny's life that I can only hope that Penny knew how she touched everyones lives and how sad we all are.

I recently recieved an email from Glen Scott and thought I might pass it on....

Penny moved to the South of France two years ago,where she bought a fully loaded Zodiac RIHB, bought a house less than an hour from some of the greatest wrecks in the Med. She was, with out a doubt, one of the top tech divers in the world. She loved God's oceans more than most people. She was most intellectually brilliant women I have ever met in this lifetime.

What more can I say?

I don't drink much anymore but, I think I'll crack a bottle of Red in her memory at 10 PM Saturday and think about how blessed I was to have been her friend.

Those of you who wish can join me in the respective moment of your time zones.

Incredibly unfortunate loss for all. Penny was in a class that so few people ever attain, inspiring to so many and she touched everyone she encountered with her smarts, dedication and skill.

I meet Penny during ZG 04, it was at a time just after getting my rebreather when I was unsure of what I was doing and nervous about being diving for the first time after getting certified. I was lucky enough to spend over a week watching her dive; with grace, natural precision and authority...hanging at My Bar...she made this newcomer feel like a welcomed part of the scene and always held the center of all of our attention with her passion for diving.

She's left us doing what she loved. Although the limited facts make it sound otherwise, one can only hope that she peacefully became one with the oceans. Hopefully we'll learn more, I'm pretty sure she would have wanted us all to learn form this if we could.

I kept hoping to hear that she and her buddy had been picked up by some passing vessel; perhaps hypothermic, exhausted and dehydrated - but now it seems their losses will make the seas a little sadder.

Just a mention for Penny's buddy: Jacques Filippi was a man of energy and enthusiasm who had a passion for diving. He leaves behind his long standing partner Christine and 2 daughters. I am sure he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
